Is the installer free? When does it ask for a key?
Yes, downloading and installing is free and needs no account. The app shows the activation window on first launch; enter the key from your purchase email to continue. There is no time-limited trial: the gate is simply "activated or not".
How long is my license valid?
Forever: it is a perpetual license for the 1.x line, a one-time $2.99 payment with no renewal. The app revalidates online roughly every 30 days and tolerates up to 90 days offline after the last successful check.
Can I use one key on two computers?
One license keeps one computer active at a time. You can move it whenever you like from the license page: deactivating the old computer or starting a computer move (which issues a new key) frees it. A second computer cannot activate while the first one holds the license.
I reinstalled Windows / changed hardware. Is my key dead?
No. A reinstall can erase the local activation, but your key still works: enter it again, or use the license page if you also need to free the old slot.
What happens if your servers are unreachable?
Nothing dramatic. A network outage is never mistaken for a revoked license: the app reports it honestly and starts anyway while you still have offline grace. Only an explicit revocation (for example a refund) stops it.
Does it work in fullscreen?
In borderless / windowed-fullscreen modes, yes: that is the supported mode. In exclusive fullscreen the operating system gives the game the screen, and an external overlay may not be visible. This includes Fortnite in its exclusive-fullscreen mode: switch the game to borderless windowed if the crosshair does not appear.
Is this allowed by game anti-cheat systems?
CROSSHAIR EASY is a plain external window: it never injects code, reads game memory, or modifies game files, and it requires no drivers or admin rights. Whether overlays are permitted is decided by each game's terms and anti-cheat policy, which can change. We cannot promise any specific game will or will not act on it; check your game's rules and use common sense. See the terms.
Does it work with controllers or console games?
The overlay runs on your PC, so PC games only. Hotkeys are keyboard-based; you can still play with a controller while the crosshair is on screen.
What data do you collect?
Your purchase email, your license key, and a salted hash of a Windows machine id (to enforce one computer at a time). No telemetry, no game activity, no files, no browsing data. Details in the privacy policy.
Refunds?
Yes, see the refund policy. Requesting one revokes the license through the payment webhook, and the app will stop on its next revalidation.
